Ingredients
- 2 cans Pokka Canned Reindeer Meat (2 × 200 g)
- 400 g tagliatelle
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion
- 1 carrot
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 tbsp tomato purée
- 1 can (400 g) chopped tomatoes
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 dl single cream
- salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 50 g Parmesan, grated
Method
- Bring a large pan of salted water to the boil for the pasta.
- Finely chop the onion, carrot and garlic and soften them in the olive oil in a wide pan over a medium heat for 6–8 minutes.
- Stir in the tomato purée for a minute, then add the chopped tomatoes, oregano and sugar and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Open the cans and add the reindeer meat with any juices. Break up large pieces with a spoon and simmer for 5 minutes, until hot. Stir in the cream and season with salt and pepper.
- Meanwhile, cook the tagliatelle according to the packet until al dente. Drain, keeping a cupful of the cooking water.
- Toss the pasta with the sauce, loosening it with a little of the cooking water if needed. Serve topped with grated Parmesan.
